ABOUT HUDD-J&K

The Housing and Urban Development Department is mandated to frame policies, prepare plans and schemes for growth of urban areas and to provide civic amenities in urban areas. Further, the Department is also entrusted with the responsibility of strengthening urban local self governments enabling them to discharge their functions effectively in terms of providing quality municipal services to the people.

Smart City project adds aesthetic dynamic lighting to preserve and showcase 150-year-old heritage structure.
Includes Sheesh Mahal and Darbar Hall amid ongoing conservation to protect from past fires and earthquakes.

Bahu Fort Light Show

Jammu's Bahu Fort hosts a 35-minute light and sound show narrating the fort's heritage and Jammu's history via projections on its walls facing Fisheries Park. Executed by Jammu Smart City Limited, it runs two daily evening shows, initially free during festivals like Diwali in 2024.
Locations: Bahu Fort (river Tawi banks); Bagh-e-Bahu (PVFH+VXF, 180006).
Best Time: Evenings; arrive early for spots.
